Harlan Joseph Peace Park

Please join the planning process as we imagine and create a new park for a historic neighborhood in Trenton. We hope to convert two city lots in the Ewing-Carroll neighborhood into a vibrant park, shaped through ongoing conversations with this community, and honoring Harlan Bruce Joseph (1949-1968) who lived on Carroll Street. We invite you to use this website to learn more about the design possibilities, the story, and how you can get involved.  You can also jump directly to our questionnaire -- in English or en Español -- to make your thoughts heard. Or, you can join us this November at Grant School to talk in person.

The words "Peace Park" come from Harlan's sister, Sharon, who thought they would best convey the ethos that guided her older brother's life.

NEXT STEPS: This fall and winter, 2025, our working group will be meeting with the City of Trenton and Mercer County, learning from planners throughout the region, and holding integrative design meetings within the community.
